Dress for Success is a not-for-profit organization that has successfully been helping women around the world for 22 years. In their years of operation, they have been a resource for over 1,000,000 women in over 150 cities in 30 different countries. Their goal is to give women tools to become economically independent – their organization helps do this through a variety of programs and outlets.
The biggest tool that Dress for Success offers is professional attire for women interviewing for jobs in a task they refer to as Suiting. They collect new and gently used professional wear to style each woman to look and feel confident and prepared for employment opportunities and in their first few weeks of employment. Once an individual secures an interview, they may be referred to Dress for Success to be Suited and be given guidance for interview preparation.
The Seattle location that Parklands North Creek is involved with also offers 2 more programs in addition to suiting. The first is the Employment Retention with several post-employment tools including networking, workshops with financial management, work/life balance, leadership and the chance to shop in Dress for Success. They also offer a Career Center for help in enhancing skills, professional guidance, and searching other career opportunities.
Parklands North Creek was pleased to hold a week-long donation drive for Dress for Success that had an amazing turn out.
